The American Kennel Association recognizes three sizes of poodles - toy, mini, and standard. In Europe, a fourth size in between a mini and a standard is recognized. This fourth size is moyen (French for medium) or klein (German for medium). In the US, moyen/klein is classed as a small standard.

Toy: up to 10 inches

Mini: 10-15 inches

Standard: Over 15 inches

Moyen or Klein: 15 - 20 inches
